Priest under investigation following accusation of sexual abuse

A CATHOLIC priest is being investigated by gardaí after a teenage boy alleged he sexually abused him.

The man, who is understood to be in his 40s, was questioned by gardaí in Co Cavan on Saturday before being released without charge.

The Catholic bishop of the diocese involved claims the first he knew of the allegations was when gardaí told him on Friday that a complaint against a priest in his diocese was being investigated.
