Technology is the answer to energy crisis, says expert

“CHINA’S rivers are poisoned, their air is putrid. If C02 emissions are something that worried them, they’d have tackled it 30 or 40 years ago.”

So says Dr James Schlesinger, former US Secretary of Defence, the country’s first-ever Secretary of Energy and former director of the CIA and now noted speaker on the global energy crisis.

He spoke to the Irish Examiner from windswept peaks overlooking Annascaul on the Dingle Peninsula. Dr Schlesinger and his travelling companions had driven some of Kerry’s most beautiful peaks to get a phone signal and he spoke from the car, watching the early morning wash over the valley.
