FOUR years late and after public rows and protests, the country’s most advanced music college finally opened its doors for classes yesterday.

Dozens of school children, some as young as five, were the first to attend one-to-one tuition at the €62 million Cork Institute of Technology’s (CIT) Cork School of Music.

They, along with the college’s 100 undergraduate students, and almost 4,000 other students, have been taking classes in hotels and primary schools while waiting for the new college.
