Funeral of road victim

THE funeral takes place today in Kilmallock of a Co Limerick chemist who died in a road accident near Mallow.

Barry Murphy, 27, died on Friday night in the single car accident on the Mallow/Cork road at Burnfort.

He was on his way home to spend the weekend with parents Bill and Elma, who live at Charleville Road, Kilmallock.

The couple lost another son, Michael John, in tragic circumstances more than 30 years ago.

Barry Murphy was a grand nephew of a former Bishop of Limerick, Dr Henry Murphy.
