Public patient care as good as private, study shows

PUBLIC hospitals deliver the same quality of service to their publicly admitted patients as they do to those patients treated “privately” once they are admitted, a new study shows.

A statistical analysis of almost 8,500 survey forms submitted to Irishhealth.com’s Rate My Hospital online poll over the past year found very little difference between public and private patients’ overall ratings.

In around one-third of public hospitals, however, a significantly greater number of private than public patients were happy with the length of time it took them to be admitted.
