Second round hope with new CAO offers

ONLY 800 college applicants are being offered a place on one of their course choices for the first time by the Central Applications Office this morning.

The second round of offers can be checked by applicants from 6am on the CAO website but the 813 students who are receiving a first offer is 118, or 12%, fewer than the equivalent number at this stage last year.

The CAO is making an offer to about 3,000 people, again slightly fewer than the corresponding number a year ago. They include 2,205 applicants who were offered a college place before today but who are now eligible for a course higher on their application list.
