‘We want to be together for love — not a visa’

GURMEET Singh and his pregnant wife Dorota Chojka have no idea what their future holds.

Dorota, from Poland, is an EU citizen and entitled to remain in Ireland but Gurmeet, who is from India, has been told he has no right to remain in the State. He arrived in Ireland on a student visa in September 2001 to study English and later secured a job in a hotel.

The couple, who live in Dublin, met two and a half years ago and married in November last year.
