Man charged with 45 assaults on girls

A MAN in his 60s appeared in a district court in Co Cork yesterday on 45 charges of sexually assaulting seven young girls.

The man, who can not be identified for legal reasons, appeared at a sitting of Clonakilty District Court after being detained by gardaí yesterday morning.

Evidence of arrest, charge and caution was given by a Garda Detective Sergeant against the man, who is not from the Clonakilty area but another part of Co Cork.
