Father of four died from blows to head

A POSTMORTEM last night revealed that a man murdered in Co Laois on Sunday night died from multiple blows to the head from a blunt instrument.

Gardaí will today examine the scene at Pat Burke’s home in Ballybrittas, where his body was discovered shortly before 11pm on Sunday.

Superintendent Philip Lyons, who is leading the investigation into the death of the father of four, said: “We hope to establish the exact instrument used.”
