Fewer students caught or suspected of cheating

THE number of students caught cheating in exams or who are being investigated for suspected breaches of exam rules when results are issued has almost halved in two years.

The State Examinations Commission (SEC) revealed last night that 39 grades in a number of individual subjects were not given with the overall Leaving Certificate results yesterday.

These included grades in construction studies, Irish, business, art, maths, French, history, economics, home economics, Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme-Link Modules and Leaving Certificate Applied.
