Officers are still trying to track down three other men in connection with Mr Cumiskey’s death.

The award-winning special needs student finished his Junior Cert exams this summer and was holidaying with his elder sister Joanne.

He was with two Irish friends, aged 16 and 27, when he was attacked outside a restaurant at about 5.30am on August 1 while returning to his apartment in Puerto del Carmen.

His friends told police he was struck across the head with an iron bar a number of times before his attackers left the scene in a car.

An autopsy carried out in the Canary Islands found he suffered a heart attack and had not died from the injuries he suffered.

However, the pathologist ordered tests on several of his organs.

Yesterday, a second postmortem was due to be carried out on Mr Cumiskey here after his sisters Joanne, Martina and Karen were due to return home with his body over the weekend.
