Woman injured during shooting
The shooting happened at a private estate, Georgian Villas, Old Cork Road, on Saturday morning.
A woman in her 40s was hit by glass when a number of shotgun blasts hit the front of the house.
It is believed the injured woman and her husband were watching TV in the front sitting room when a number of shots hit the window and the front door.
The woman was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital where she was treated for cuts to her leg.
Her husband was treated for shock.
Gardaí believe that those involved in the attack got the wrong house.
Two men wearing dark clothes and balaclavas were seen running from the scene shortly after the attack.
Detectives from the Roxboro Road crime unit spent Saturday carrying out extensive forensic examinations.
And in another shooting incident, two blasts from a shotgun hit a house in O’Malley Park on Friday night. Nobody was injured in that incident.
