DPP sent files on priest sex assault

GARDAÍ have confirmed that they have sent two files to the Director of Public Prosecutions following complaints that a priest sexually assaulted young women, and are currently preparing a third file following another complaint.

A senior Garda source said that two women recently made complaints to gardaí in the Cork North Division alleging that they had been abused by the priest in the late 1970s.

It is understood that he is retired and still living in Co Cork. The women are alleging that he carried out serious sexual assaults on them as schoolgirls in the parish in which he worked.
