DPP sent files on priest sex assault
A senior Garda source said that two women recently made complaints to gardaí in the Cork North Division alleging that they had been abused by the priest in the late 1970s.
It is understood that he is retired and still living in Co Cork. The women are alleging that he carried out serious sexual assaults on them as schoolgirls in the parish in which he worked.
Meanwhile, gardaí are expecting a direction from the DPP on whether an alleged serial paedophile, also based in Co Cork, will be prosecuted. A total of 10 young women alleged that the man, who is now in his 60s, carried out serious sexual assaults on them in the mid-1990s to early 2000.
The man was arrested last March.
