Cheeky radio ad cleared by standards watchdog

The authority yesterday said it had received two complaints from members of the public regarding a billboard in Waterford emblazoned with a man sitting on a bench with the top of his bottom visible. The accompanying strap line reads: “A whole lotta craic. Beat Breakfast weekdays from 6.50am.”

However, the billboard at the side of the N25 motorway near the roundabout at Plunkett Train Station “has not caused grave or widespread offence”, according to an authority spokeswoman. The billboard, known as the “Brekkie Bum”, will not have to be taken down.
