UNION officials expressed concern last night that management at the privately run Bon Secours Hospital in Cork mayintroduce fingerprint and retina scanning to keep an eye on their employees.

SIPTU branch organiser Joe O’Callaghan said members had raised their concerns about the possible introduction of such “futuristic systems”.

Mr O’Callaghan said his members became aware of the proposal after details of briefing meetings with departmental managers leaked to union officials.
