Car trouble: women need wheels changed but men clumsier with keys

MEN are the riskier — and clumsier — sex when it comes to motoring, according to an analysis of 80,000 calls to AA Ireland in the first six months of 2007.

The data shows that women are more likely to ask for a wheel to be changed but when it comes to mistakes with fuel or keys — and getting into scrapes — men come to the fore.

The figures show that Mondays are generally the busiest days for car breakdowns, although the single busiest day so far this year was Tuesday, January 2, when 909 calls for help were answered.
