Long way from Renault millions for Cullen

IT’S not just penny apples that are a distant memory for businessman and entrepreneur, Bill Cullen … soon it will be Renault cars as well.

French car manufacturer Renault announced yesterday that Mr Cullen’s company, Glencullen Distributors, is to lose the franchise to distribute its cars in the Republic from the end of 2008.

The decision will come as a huge blow for the high-profile businessman and writer as he has held the Renault franchise for the Irish market since 1986.
