Accused told witness about marriage problems

JOE O’REILLY talked about leaving his wife Rachel in the months before she was murdered, a witness told the Central Criminal Court.

John Austin, who got to know Mr O’Reilly the year before Rachel died, said they were beginning to form a close friendship and Mr O’Reilly talked to him about the state of his relationship.

“He said that there were marital difficulties and himself and Rachel had been sleeping in separate bedrooms,” Mr Austin said.
