CHILDREN who are sexually abused are seven times more likely to be attacked again within the next year and are less likely to be able to protect themselves.

In addition, children who suffer assaults or other crimes are likely to become serial victims with six out of 10 (59%) becoming victims once more within the next year.

Those are the findings of researchers at the Crimes Against Children Research Centre at the University of New Hampshire.
