Concern over lack of restrictions

ANIMAL welfare personnel yesterday warned of continued attacks by dangerous dogs until adequate resources are put into tackling the control of such breeds.

Frustrated officials are concerned about the lack of restriction, in this country, on the breeding and control of potential killer dogs.

A statutory fine, as low as €30, is the only penalty which can be slapped on an irresponsible owner.
