First aid: 1,200 treated at private A&E

NEARLY 1,200 patients have been treated in the A&E department of the new private Beacon Hospital since it opened its doors on March 21.

Doctors and surgeons in the only private A&E facility attached to a hospital in the eastern region treated a variety of conditions from sports injuries to cardiac arrest.

The department is open 8am to 6pm Monday through Saturday, except Bank Holiday weekends.
