Pharma TV idea to market drugs

FOUR international pharmaceutical giants with bases in Ireland have denied that they are trying to have laws overturned that stop them marketing their drugs — despite their trying to set up a television station which would feature their products.

Novartis, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble want to launch Pharma TV.

Funded by the industry, the television station would carry health news, but would also tell the public about the companies’ medicines.
