FG will halt rip-off Ireland, says Bruton

FINE Gael promised yesterday to lower the cost of living if returned to government — but immediately faced scepticism that such a goal was possible.

The party said that inflation was running at a five-year high, averaging 5.1% in the first four months of this year.

“Ireland is already the most expensive country using the euro and we are continuing to accelerate away from the rest,” said Fine Gael deputy leader Richard Bruton.
