Fine Gael demonstrates strongest voter loyalty

VOTER loyalty is greatest for Fine Gael and weakest for Fianna Fáil, with almost one in five voters prepared to desert the main Government party in the upcoming general election.

Fine Gael will be the main beneficiaries of this switch, with almost one in 10 who voted Fianna Fáil in 2002 planning to vote for the main opposition party.

A new opinion poll, carried out by Lansdowne Market Research on behalf of the Irish Examiner, found Fine Gael and Labour command greater voter loyalty than Fianna Fáil.
