Increase in nurses’ strike action will hurt patients: HSE

AS NURSING unions announced details of an escalation in their strike action the Health Service Executive (HSE) has warned of the inevitability of more operational cancellations and “an awful lot more suffering for patients.”

The next round of nationwide work stoppages by nurses will start tomorrow and continue throughout next week at over 50 locations.

Stoppages are set to increase from one to three hours as nurses ramp up their campaign in pursuit of a 35-hour week and a 10.6% pay increase.
