CSO: concern over healthcare spend

WHILE non-capital expenditure in Ireland more than tripled between 1995 and 2004, the amount spent per head on healthcare hasn’t even doubled.

CSO: concern over healthcare spend

According to the figures from the Central Statistics Office, in 1995 total non-capital expenditure was €2.98 billion and €1,231 was spent per person on healthcare.

In 2004, the total expenditure more than tripled to €9.609bn of which €2,223 per person was spent on healthcare. That is only 80% more than the 1995 spend.
