Rabbitte pledges stamp duty reform under Labour rule

A REFORM of stamp duty is on the cards if Labour gets into government, pledges Pat Rabbitte.

However, while saying the changes could easily be brought in before the next budget in December, he declined to specify when this would occur.

“Nobody in advance signals what they are going to do on tax, especially tax on assets. We are going to introduce a package of reforms on stamp duty as an immediate priority,” he said.
