Newbridge come back to win quiz on tiebreak
Held in Tullamore last night, the first two teams produced an absolute cliffhanger. Newbridge were behind by 22 marks after round four and clawed their way back to level the contest after round 10 with both teams on 106.
On the breakdown of correctly answered individual questions, both teams were again equal so it went to a tiebreaker which Newbridge won. The Newbridge team consisted of Ciaran O’Carroll, Ralph Hurley-O’Dwyer, Neil Diver and Daniel Diver.
The second quiz, number 192, resulted in a win for High School Rathgar, Dublin, on 102 marks with Avondale Community College, Rathdrum, Co Wicklow on 82. The Rathgar team consisted of Mark Horgan, Tom Rostengrave, Beth Kelly and Evan O’Callaghan.
