THE 1916 Rising was commemorated with ceremonies in Mallow yesterday.

Mayor Jerry Mullally led the tributes which involved a parade from the Courthouse to St Mary’s Church.

The Defence Forces provided a Colour Party and the Thomas Davis Pipe Band and Civil Defence took part.
