Hanafin’s school added to €540m building project

Ms Hanafin announced yesterday that 56 schools are to begin the first stage on the road to building new schools or extensions to existing facilities.

Among them is the Dominican College in Mount Sion, Blackrock, where Ms Hanafin taught Irish and history until her election to the Dáil in 1997. It will be one of just two all-girl schools in that part of south Dublin which does not charge fees after the closure of St Mary’s Secondary School in Ballsbridge this summer.
