THE proposed new garda deployment measures for Southill and Moyross would lead to widespread movement of major drug dealers into suburban Limerick, it was claimed yesterday.

Dublin City Manager John Fitzgerald had been asked to prepare the report amid an escalation of serious crime in both Dublin and Limerick.

A key proposal is the deployment of 100 extra gardaí and one superintendent to Limerick, to work exclusively in Moyross and Southill.
