GARDAÍ have described the theft of nearly half a million euro worth of laptops and televisions as a “very professional job”.

More than 400 laptop computers, the majority of which are of the Acer make, and around 150 Mirai televisions were loaded on to a white medium-sized lorry after a gang of thieves broke into a warehouse in Cork after disabling the alarm system.

Garda sources said they believed that up to five men were involved in the robbery and it probably took them several hours to remove the laptops and televisions.
