Man rescues woman from freezing waters

A MAN sailing his dinghy dived into freezing waters and pulled a woman to safety after spotting her car in the sea in Co Cork.

The woman’s vehicle had entered into the water from a slipway in Monkstown village, near Cork, at around 3.30pm yesterday.

The rescuer, named locally as Charles McCarthy, was sailing his dinghy in the sea when he spotted the woman’s car.
