MORE than a million St Patrick’s revellers are hitting the roads and boarding planes, trains and buses for the bank holiday getaway.

Aer Lingus expects to carry 165,000 passengers from Ireland to Great Britain, Europe, the USA and Dubai, with demand up 4% on the same weekend last year.

Dublin Airport expects to handle 330,000 passengers while Ryanair has record bookings of 250,000 flyers travelling on its Irish routes.
