Aircraft quarantined as passengers fall ill

The Continental Airlines which took them from the US was quarantined at the airport for several hours following complaints of illness by a number of passengers.

Three other passengers who were on the same Continental Airlines flight and who also complained of feeling unwell were allowed to disembark after receiving medical attention.

A spokesperson for Dublin Airport Authority said it was understood that up to 25 passengers were at a restaurant party in New York on Saturday night.

The 25 passengers are students from the University of Philadelphia. They were due to visit Co Down.

It is believed that those who complained of feeling unwell had all eaten chicken.
