RCI scoops workplace award

ONE of Cork’s largest employers, with 750 staff from 35 countries, has proven that large-scale operations can still have the best human resources environment.

RCI scoops workplace award

RCI’s Customer Contact Centre was selected as one of the 50 best companies to work for in Ireland.

The selections are based on independent, empirical research carried out among staff across a range of stringent criteria.

Assessments are made on the basis of the quality of employer-employee relationships, camaraderie, inter-employee relationships, and the degree to which staff view the operation and impacts of values such as credibility, respect and pride in the workplace.

The RCI centre opened at Lough Mahon Technology Park in 1999.

The complexities of having such a large international staff, conducting business in 18 different languages, mean that progressive policies in HR and “managing diversity” have been developed, the company emphasised.

Colm Condon, human resources director, said the award provided a benchmark for employee satisfaction.

“We are really delighted at the recognition and the fact that it is so heavily based on staff perspectives,” said Mr Condon.

RCI is the world’s leading timeshare exchange and travel organisation.

RCI makes holiday and travel arrangements for over 10 million people annually.
