Irish among happiest nations in EU

THE Irish are among the happiest nations in Europe; despite major concerns about healthcare, crime and the cost of living.

More than 94% say they are happy, while half of the population describe themselves as very happy, according to a EU-wide survey.

They are content with their quality of life and their standard of living and believe family, friends and health are the essential ingredients for a happy life.
