GARDAÍ were last night investigating a fatal assault on a 61-year-old man and the attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy.

The separate and unrelated incidents occurred in north Dublin over the weekend.

On Saturday, single man Tommy Dempsey died after being viciously assaulted at his home in Edenmore, Raheny.
