Foul play not suspected in mature student’s death

FOUL play is not suspected following the death of a mature student who fell ill after being questioned by gardaí.

Stephen Sheridan, aged 29, was arrested after hundreds of ecstasy tablets were found in his NUI Maynooth apartment on Tuesday. After sleeping in a cell at Naas garda Station during the night, he could not be roused. He was rushed to hospital, but died.

A post mortem on the north Dublin man’s body has been completed but Garda headquarters would not release its details last night.
