Chernobyl children draw Kidd and Christensen
What is expected to be the glamour event on this year’s Leeside calendar sold out prior to Christmas without ticket-holders knowing that international model and TV personality Kidd would be appearing at the Brown Thomas-sponsored fashion show on Thursday, January 25.
She confirmed her acceptance yesterday, much to the delight of Adi Roche.
“We were thrilled how well the fashion show has been supported and are honoured to have both Helena Christensen and Jodie Kidd come to Cork for this special event. We are also delighted to be working with Brown Thomas and are looking forward to a fantastic fashion show,” Ms Roche said.
She added that it was hoped to raise around €150,000 on the night, and this will go towards a new building project which her organisation has undertaken for foster children in Belarus.
The fashion extravaganza will kick off with a champagne reception at 7.30pm. RTÉ’s glamorous Grainne Seoige will act as MC and several top Irish models including Sarah Morrissey, Glenda Gilson, Lizana Kirwan and Samina Zia will join Helena Christensen and Jodie Kidd on the catwalk.
They will be joined by a number of celebrity guest models including Keith Duffy, Diarmuid Gavin and Ryan Tubridy. They will also be joined on the catwalk by members of the Cork hurling team.
Brown Thomas Group is producing the show and guest models are kindly donating their time in order that all monies will go to the Chernobyl Project.
Ms Roche said the CCPI committee would also like to acknowledge Kearys of Cork for their generous sponsorship and The Irish Examiner as media sponsors.
