Supermodel Helena to star in charity show
Details of the glamorous event were revealed yesterday by Ali Hewson and Adi Roche and proceeds will go to the Chernobyl Children’s Project International (CCPI).
The show will be held at Cork City Hall on Thursday, January 25.
Brown Thomas will be showcasing its new season collection and several top Irish models will join Ms Christensen on the catwalk, as will a number of surprise celebrity guest models.
The show will feature aselection of new arrivals, together with international designer pieces from Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli and many more.
It is hoped that over €150,000 will be raised for the Chernobyl Children’s Project International through ticket sales and the event programme.
Brown Thomas Group is producing the show and guest models are kindly donating their time in order that all monies will go to the CCPI.
“I am really looking forward to coming to Cork in the New Year and I am delighted to support the great work of the Chernobyl Children’s Project International,” Ms Christensen said yesterday.
According to Adi Roche of CCPI: “Helena has generously given her name to come on board as an Ambassador to CCPI.
“We are honoured to have her come to Cork to for this fashion show. Monies raised will go towards a new building project we have undertaken which is part of a new foster programme for the children of Belarus.”
Tickets for the event, which kicks off with a champagne reception, cost €125, and are on sale from today from Brown Thomas stores nationwide.
