Pepperoni pizza stolen at gunpoint

A LIMERICK pizza deliveryman thought he was in big trouble early yesterday for getting a Moyross order wrong.

Pepperoni pizza stolen at gunpoint

He had a Pepperoni. But when confronted by a threatening customer in the Delmege Park area, he knew it wasn’t a case of going back for a Hawaiian.

A loaded sawn-off shot gun was produced.

The gunman was after the night’s takings, which he took, along with the Pepperoni.

In a follow-up search of the area, a loaded sawn-off pump-action shot gun was found in the Delmege Park area and a man was arrested.

He was being held last night at Mayorstone Garda Station.

There was no sign of the pizza man’s money — or the pizza.

Meanwhile, gardaí at Roxboro Road Garda Station have held talks with the Health Service Executive after a recent incident when an ambulance crew were attacked after going to Southill to pick up a girl found lying unconscious.

Supt Frank O’Brien said that while there was no policy about garda escorts for ambulance visits to Moyross, there is “a mechanism in place” if there are concerns.
