Prison attack on man charged in Wicklow abduction

A 26-YEAR-OLD man who was charged with falsely imprisoning a woman in Co Dublin last Sunday was attacked in Cork Prison by a fellow inmate yesterday.

The man, who was charged at Castleisland District Court, Co Kerry on Thursday morning with imprisoning a woman and with assault causing bodily harm to her at Military Road, Glasamucky, Dublin on November 19, was later remanded to Cork Prison.

A spokesman confirmed that an attack had taken place on a prisoner but said it was a minor incident.
