GARDAÍ were yesterday combing forestry and wooded areas in north Cork and south Limerick looking for a 44-year-old married father-of-two who hasn’t been seen since last Monday.

Gardaí search woodlands as fears grow for missing father-of-two

A garda spokesman said that Paul Kelly, from Charleville, Co Cork, hasn’t been seen since he left his home at about 4pm that day.

He described Mr Kelly as a quiet man who is on medication. But gardaí don’t know if he has his medicine with him, which is causing them concern.

Charleville gardaí contacted their colleagues in Bruree and Bruff on Tuesday to ask them to check on woods in the Ballyhoura area. Searches in the area continued again yesterday.

“Mr Kelly left his home in his green Volkswagon Polo saloon, registration number 98 TN 512. We are very anxious to hear from any member of the public who may have seen this car,” the spokesman said.

The missing man is described as being 6ft tall, of slim build, with greying black hair cut tight. He also has two scars on his forehead.

When last seen, Mr Kelly was wearing black jeans, a black suede-type jacket, grey sweatshirt and black shoes.

“Any member of the public who sees Mr Kelly or his car is asked to contact us immediately, or their local garda station,” the Charleville garda spokesman added.

Anyone with information can contact Charleville gardaí at 063-81222 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666 111.
