Limerick gang suspected of carrying out murder

LIMERICK’S notorious McCarthy-Dundon gang are suspected of carrying out the murder of Latvian Baiba Saulite as a favour for the leader of a non-national gang based in Dublin, the Irish Examiner has learned from well-informed sources.

Ms Saulite was shot dead in her home in Swords, Co Dublin, on Sunday night while her two children, Ali-Alexandra and Mohammed Rami, slept upstairs. Gardaí believe it was a contract killing.

The McCarthy-Dundon gang based in the south side of Limerick city are now the focus of the major garda investigation.
