Murdered man was attacked inside his home

THE bachelor murdered early on Saturday morning in Co Limerick was attacked inside his house and not outside as was widely reported, the Irish Examiner has learned.

Murdered man was attacked inside his home

Heavy blood stains were found inside Liam O’Donovan’s home at St Sennan’s Terrace, Croom, where he lived alone. It was speculated that he was awakened by somebody trying to steal his car and came out to challenge the thief. However, this has been discounted.

Gardaí now believe he tried to flee from his attacker, while inside the house, and made his way out onto the street where he collapsed and died from a stab wound to the chest.
