‘Waterford on Ice’ to attract 50,000 visitors

WATERFORD is bracing itself for an influx of 50,000 plus extra visitors over the busy Christmas shopping season with plans for its ‘Waterford on Ice’ festival stepping up a gear.

Waterford Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Waterford City Council have secured a site for their outdoor ice rink as part of a €500,000 plan to make Waterford an even more popular shopping Mecca from December 8.

‘Waterford on Ice’ will be open to the public from the December 8 for a full month and will be located in the People’s Park, chamber chief executive, Monica Leech, yesterday confirmed.
