Streets ahead: Grafton named sixth most expensive in world

IRELAND’S best known shopping stretch Grafton Street is now the sixth most expensive in the world, with some retailers paying up to €1 million a year in rent.

Dublin’s shopping street now holds the accolade of the sixth most expensive street for rent in the world, soaring above premium shopping meccas such as Rome, Milan, Zurich and Singapore.

Paying for space in Grafton Street now sets you back €4,496 per square metre a year. That’s nearly €50 a square centimetre, if you’re really pushed for room on the 400-metre patch of real estate.
