Cullen refuses to reveal cost of plan for Dublin Metro

TRANSPORT Minister Martin Cullen was strongly criticised yesterday for not revealing the cost of the new Metro system which will cut the journey from Dublin Airport to the city to just 17 minutes by 2012.

The opposition said his refusal to reveal the cost meant there was “a massive credibility gap” in the plans.

That view was supported by the former director general of the National Institute for Transport and Logistics, Professor Austin Smyth, who said he couldn’t understand the refusal to publish cost estimates.
