A NUMBER of schemes earmarked for small villages have been refused planning permission by Cork County Council.

Midleton-based developer Vincent Garde was refused permission by the local authority to construct a mix of 24 homes at Towns Park, Cloyne, while John Moloney and Kevin Regan, from Waterford, got similarly bad news for their 16-house project in Ballintotis.

Meanwhile, Gerard O’Sullivan also got the thumbs-down for plans to demolish a filling station and shop at Dripsey Cross and replace them with 14 homes, a new service station and two apartments.
